Our last blog post was all about blowing our own trumpet, and sharing our 2020 accomplishments with you. Now that it’s 2021, we thought it would be nice to share some of our plans with you…the ones that we can share, at least!
Exhibiting at NAMM’s Believe in Music Week 2021
We kicked off last year in style, by launching Edgware in Los Angeles, at our industries biggest trade show – NAMM. Things are going to be a little different this year, but we’re very much looking forward to exhibiting at NAMM’s virtual Believe in Music Week.
We’ve got lots in the works, such as sessions with a rather well-know trombonist on YouTube, and one of our favourite clarinettists. We’re also looking forward to speaking with our fantastic dealers and distributors…and hoping to meet some new ones too. Oh, and if that’s not enough, we’ll be hosting a giveaway too!
NAMM is free to attend for EVERYONE, so make sure you register for the event, and come check out our booth from 11th January!

Developing New Products for 2021
We’re constantly on the look out for ways we can improve the currently available products for maintaining your wind instruments. Either through making them from re-purposed materials, formulating them with non-toxic ingredients, or packaging them in compostable, biodegradable and recyclable packaging. 2021 is going to be no exception, and we’ve already got some new projects on the go…think polishes, creams, brushes, and even a new vegan formula for one of our most popular products!
Improving our Packaging in 2021
As much as we love our current packaging, we’re in the process of working with current dealers and distributors to make it even better. All of our products are packaged by hand, which means that our wonderful colleague Neil is getting a little tired of tying twine. In order to be more time efficient as we grow, we’re looking into alternatives.
We’re also on the hunt for some alternatives for the bottles we currently use for our oils. It’s great that they can be easily recycled here in the UK, but we need to start considering our international customers now that we have dealers across the world. For this reason, we’re in the process of exploring bottles made from post consumer resins – watch this space!

Focussing on Feedback in 2021
Launching Edgware the same year as a global pandemic was far from ideal, for a variety of different reasons. Most importantly, we weren’t able to meet face-to-face with any of our customers. Although we made a real effort to keep in touch with our dealers and distributors (often through Hannah filming product introduction videos from her kitchen table), it’s still not the same as meeting in person.
We are keen to get as much feedback as possible from everyone that comes across our brand this year. So, if you’ve tried any of our products, or have any ideas to share with us, please feel free to reach out. You can do so via our social channels, or by emailing edgware@bbico.com.

Carry on Collaborating in 2021
Some of our biggest highlights last year were working with other amazing companies within the music products industry. We loved working with Warwick Music Group to develop a cleaning kit for their pInstruments, and we also loved helping Millers Music put together social media campaigns about Edgware.
We’re looking to do more of this in 2021, with a live Q&A with Brass Bell Music at the top of the list!

How about you?
What are your plans for 2021? We’d love to hear what you’ve got planned for the year ahead. At the very least, we’d love to hear how much extra care you’re going to take of your musical instrument…
